The smell of independence | My first flight to Manila Philippines

Honestly, I can barely remember the last time I rode an airplane- 2 years ago, maybe? As an introvert and a home buddy, travelling is not one of my leisure activities.

I realized I never had the luxury to book random flights with friends or family mainly because we weren't brought up that way. We only travel when there is a reason- school competition, educational tour, weddings, funerals, etc. All these I rely on my family to book me a ticket and accommodation.

When my manager told me I have to travel for a work trip to manila, I was excited but at the same time scared because I never tried riding a plane alone. Good thing the ticket and accommodation were coursed through our company fleet officer.

The night before my early morning flight, I searched the internet for some tips and information about ridding a plane as if I'm an ignorant person who hasn't ride a plane. Well, it's true in part, since I don't know what to do. The internet said I can have my check-in online. So I did that. Then everything went smooth sailing.

On the day of my flight, I didn't sleep at all because Im afraid to miss my flight. I learned that I have to be at the airport at least 1 hr earlier.

Upon arriving, I ordered myself a cup of coffee and observed the people at the airport as I wait for my boarding. It was such a euphoric moment seeing people rushing thru to catch their flights like I've seen in the movies.

This experience may be normal for others but to me, it was a symbol of Independence, knowing that I can survive on my own.

To more travels and adventures, I go.
