Hello, everyone!

What's up, Sketchbook community? Welcome back to emanate artworx. Today I'd like to share a portrait from a few months ago. I made it as part of a year-end collaboration for a group I joined in 2022 called ArtPark. We're a small group, but not small on passion and talent! The prompt for this collab was to "make a piece that represents your art style."

At the time, this was one of my best faces, as far as semi-realistic goes. I'm still finding my way when it comes to portraits. There are so many awesome styles, it's hard to choose one and stick to it. For now, this is what I've been practicing. Here she is, "Carly".

Since making this, I've gotten a little better with understanding how to shade the skin and hair, or at least faster. Now I can do a similar style portrait in about half the time it took for this one. Also, I used the golden ratio template from the IbisPaint library, although I'm not sure if it did much for this composition 🤷‍♀️😆.
