Why Steemit is Still on Beta?

I have been watching steemit one and half years. It has become popular within a short time. But after two years it's still on beta.

I know that steemit aims to support online community and social media. It gives gives value to it's member form posting good contents. But I was wondering why Steemit is still on beta? What is the reason it's not a full version yet?
