Blue (freewrite poetry)

Noticing her had me frozen,
her beauty, it was hard to come by
the colors above did no justice
to the eyes that made me sigh

Seeing her had me flustered
with visions of blue and yellow
clammy palms and fast heart beats
my lips forgot how to say hello

Talking to her had me giddy
soaring high beyond the clouds
stutters and rambles escape me
I can't help but talk out loud

Knowing her has me awed
she wore her pain like a suit of armor
beautiful, gorgeous, captivating
you couldn't help but admire

But loving her has me blue
blue like the sky above
yellow sun and clouds of white
I'm finally with you, my love

But when I am with you, my darling,
I've never felt more whole
wrapped only in your arms
you have my love-- my soul

I will paint you with sky colors
showing you off like clouds so lovely
because what a tragedy it would be
to love you only quietly
