Don't be outgunned! Buy an AR15 - on the cheap.
With so much uncertainty in the world, 2018 is a good time go get armed. Right now an AR-15 style rifle can be had for as little as 500 dollars!
No joke. Even though it is 1950's technology, the AR platform is more than capable of home defense. In fact, there are hundreds of examples nationwide of everyday homeowners defending themselves with AR15's. Just google it, the result will be more stories than you can read.

Building your own is a pretty great option as well. Given how popular the AR15 platform is, there's hundreds of tutorials and walkthroughs online about how to take an 80% lower and end up with a full-fledged rifle. The process is fairly simple and there's affordable jigs now to make it even easier.
It is very doable even for a novice. Just buy the right tools and watch the right youtube video and you're making 'ghost' guns in no time haha. It is a good time to be a gun lover right now too - ammo and gun prices are Low.
