EOS Rio goes green \o/

EOS Rio joins the sustainable movement created by @eosauthority for a carbon neutral EOS Blockchain. This initiative is a collaboration with ClimateCare, a certified B corporation.

53 Block Producers already joined this movement. It aims to offset the entire EOS carbon footprint from 10th June 2018 to 9th June 2019. During this period, the calculated footprint is 562 tonnes of CO2.

Sustainability is key to our future. One of the factors to be considered when scaling blockchains is the impact on nature. After all, the World is going through an Environmental crisis and we believe that our community should be part of the solution.

Recently, a @genereos research showed that EOS is already 66,454 times more Energy efficient in comparison to Bitcoin & 17,236 times more Energy efficient than Ethereum.

However, we knew we could improve. Now we have the opportunity to be the first major carbon neutral blockchain. How cool is that?
