Cookie Monster Keychain (Esp/Eng)

¡Hola comunidad!
Cuando era niña me encantaba ver Plaza Sésamo, eran unos personajes demasiado divertidos, luego volví a disfrutarlos con mi hijo mayor a la que se agregaron más series animadas de la época, recuerdo otra que veíamos juntos que era Zabomafoo el lémur, pero eso es otra historia... Cookie Monster cuando aparecía en escena siempre se robaba el show, de hecho lo imitábamos cuando comíamos galletas.
Les cuento que estoy comenzando a usar guantes para manipular el material, estoy sufriendo de alergias y pues me duelen y se me inflaman mucho.
Esta manualidad me trajo recuerdos hermosos, le regalaré este llavero a mi hijo mayor para que recuerde nuestra época.

Hi, community!
When I was a little girl, I loved watching Sesame Street—the characters were so funny. Later, I got to enjoy them again with my oldest son, along with other animated shows from that era. I remember another one we used to watch together: Zabomafoo the Lemur, but that’s another story... Cookie Monster always stole the show whenever he appeared on screen—in fact, we used to imitate him when we ate cookies.
I want to tell you that I'm starting to wear gloves when I handle the material; I've been having allergies, and my hands hurt and get really swollen.
This craft brought back wonderful memories. I’m going to give this keychain to my oldest son so he’ll remember those days.

Yo uso la crema para manos para hidratar el foami flexible si es necesario, esto me ayuda también a que se adhieran piezas sin necesidad de pegamento.
Tomo una porción y hago una bolita, luego aplano un poco, con ayuda de un cortador de galletas corto la pieza y redondeo los bordes con la mano.
Tomo dos porciones de foami blanco del mismo tamaño, moldeo en forma redonda y aplano un poco.

I use hand cream to moisturise the flexible foam if necessary; this also helps the pieces stick together without needing glue.
I take a piece and roll it into a small ball, then flatten it slightly; using a biscuit cutter, I cut out the piece and round off the edges by hand.
I take two pieces of white foam of the same size, shape them into rounds and flatten them slightly.

Pego los ojos en el cuerpo del Cookie Monster repitiendo el procedimiento con las pupilas.
Moldeo una bolita color negro y aplano, luego corto por la mitad y la coloco como boca.
Tomo una pequeña porción de foami color marrón y aplano, con un pitillo hago cortes para dar semejanza a una galleta mordida, luego la pego en la boca de Cookie Monster, con ayuda de una herramienta de punta hago pequeños hoyitos en la galleta.

I stick the eyes onto Cookie Monster’s body, repeating the process with the pupils.
I shape a small black ball and flatten it, then cut it in half and place it as the mouth.
I take a small piece of brown foam and flatten it; using a straw, I make cuts to make it look like a bitten biscuit, then stick it onto Cookie Monster’s mouth; using a pointed tool, I make small indentations in the biscuit.

Coloco pegamento transparente en la argolla que yo misma aprendí a realizar, luego la introduzco en el cuerpo de Cookie Monster, esta tiene un doblez en la punta para evitar que se resbale con el tiempo.
Luego introduzco la cadena con aro para llavero y dejamos secar, si gustas, después que seque al menos unas 24 horas aplica algún tipo de brillo a Cookie Monster.
Esta es mi versión del personaje de Plaza Sésamo, dejo mi inspiración más abajo en el enlace.

I apply clear glue to the ring – which I learnt to make myself – then insert it into Cookie Monster’s body; it has a bend at the tip to stop it slipping out over time.
Next, I thread the chain with the key ring through and leave it to dry. If you like, once it’s been dry for at least 24 hours, you can add some kind of glitter to Cookie Monster.
This is my version of the Sesame Street character; I’ve included the link to my inspiration below.

Mi hijo mayor y yo también lo imitábamos al momento de comer galletitas. Que lindos recuerdos y que bueno poder haberlos compartido con ellos.
Te quedó bellísimo, plaza sésamo también era uno de mis programas favoritos de hecho era una vieja de 14 años y seguía viendolo con mi sobrina 🤭 esa y varias más. Me encantó como te quedó, quiero aprender a hacer figuras con porcelana fría y foami moldeable, pero son tantas las cosas que quiero aprender que luego me abrumo 😭 espero que esa alergia pase pronto y puedas trabajar sin ese malestar. 💕

Entiendo lo doloroso de las alergias; usar guantes es una decisión sabia y cuidadosa que protege tu salud sin quitarle valor al cariño que pones en la manualidad. Ese llavero será más que un objeto: será memoria, amor y ejemplo de constancia para tu hijo. Sigue cuidándote con serenidad y firmeza; lo importante no es la perfección, sino el gesto y la intención.
