As a politician, you don’t admit to something damaging being true unless it’s going to come out. Then you’re able to shape the narrative of it. You don’t come out and confirm what most politically astute people already knew at a time in which your party is a tire fire, unless it was already going to come out.

And you don’t attack someone with tremendous political clout unless the people propping up that person have stepped away, especially someone in Warrens case because she still has elections to win.
