Monomad Challenge Entry- Portugal

Back home I feel uninspired. Perhaps too focused on work? I must pick up my camera again and bring it with me each and every day. Why is it?

I guess I just get so stuck. Stuck in daily routines. Stuck in a way that almost feels like being lost or floating through life as time just continues to go by. Traveling is something that has always had the power of clearing my mind. Or rather, gaining some perspective on the life I am living back in the city or country of origin. Being away, it becomes clear but returning and following through with the vision or dream is where it becomes difficult.

I have moments (usually lasting a few days to a week) where I am truly focused and dedicated to the tasks at hand. To what I can say is my passion of photography.

Photography is something I can get lost in for hours. This is probably the only thing I've found on this earth that when I am lost, I feel like I am found.

Time away from work and my normal routine is when I find myself full of wonder. My sense of wonder lights up like it did in my younger years when travel was a frequent adventure. Wondering what's around the next corner and following any path that catches my eye. This, I miss.
