i will say this i would rather listen to king tell a story that read tolkien, tolkien might have had skills but his storytelling left much to be desired.

This explains perfectly why I haven't been able to finish a Stephen King book.Perhaps if a writer is so enamored of something or someone, then write about only that building or person, or city, or credenza until absolutly finished with it, and then use it as world building.

Stephen King, one of the most widely read authors in the world. Has more of his books turned into movies than just about anyone. And budding authors take the time to publicly criticise him, ha ha ha... what have you done that makes me want to listen to you?
