Summer Days
Let me remind you that if you do not care for Christian posts, keep your vile opinions to yourself and keep scrolling.
Okay so it has been over two months since I posted anything and at that time I just started. Throughout that time I have been working at a bible camp as a groundskeeper (or something like that) to get the camp all set for the summer. This will be my seventh year working in this specific camp, and I've done it for the Lord every year. However, every year, it is becoming tougher to go through each summer. As I get older, less people listen to what I have to say, whether it is staff or campers. As a result, many small problems happen. While I am glad no serious problems occurred from this, I do not feel welcome here anymore as my imput does not matter to anybody.
The real problem is me however, stuggling in my faith 24/7. Ever since I became a Christian, the only thing that seemed to matter in my life is God. While that did not seem to be a problem, I should state that nothing else mattered to me. There are many passages in the bible telling us to work, cooperate, suffer, and live together; but to me, it seemed to be not enough. Very often, I desire to find reasons to cooperate with these people. The bible says that every person is like a part of the body that cannot work alone, but most of these people think they are a certain part of this body when they are actually something different. Also, I do not know my place in this body. I have no idea how I am supposed to function.
Telling the truth, I did not want to come back working at this camp; but being a college student with zero income because no one wanted to hire me, I had no choice whatsoever. I wanted to be working maintenance throughout the summer, but the board of the camp refused that request and now I am stuck with kids again. This year is already becoming harder to deal with and the camp days have not started yet. I have snapped at kids before and I do not wish to repeat such event.
Why am I still working here? It is because I am still willing to do my part for the Lord. While I feel that I am not welcome by the staff at the camp, I am still welcome in God's kingdom. While I do not know what part I have in this place, I will remain using the strength God has given me. While I did not want to come back to working here for another summer, I will do my best to remain in the path God chose for me. While I have many problems trying to cripple me, the God who strengthens me is greater than all these problems.
My true place is with the Lord.
