[ESP/ENG] Es es mi Familia: El Motor de mi Vida-La Iniciativa de Actual Azul- ¿Y Cómo es Tu Familia? /This Is My Family: The Driving Force of My Life-The Actual Azul Initiative- What's Your Family Like?
Hi, friends! I hope you're all doing well. With this post, I'm joining @emiliorios's initiative in the Mundo Autismo community, titled “Let's Talk About My Family... My First Social Group!”—The Actual Azul Initiative—“What's Your Family Like?”. I’d like to welcome you into my home and tell you a little about the roots that shaped me and the branches that make up my present. Join me in getting to know the people who make my world a more beautiful place.
To start, let me tell you about my family structure: I’m part of a wonderful network where love multiplies. My immediate family is led by my parents, Asdrúbal and Gela, who raised the three of us sisters. From them, we learned that love can be used to discipline—they would scold us when necessary, but they never mistreated us to correct our behavior. Without a doubt, they are my role models. My two sisters are still single, each excelling in her own career: one is a doctor and the other is a pastry chef—the one responsible for sweetening our lives. I get my cake recipes from her because they’re the most delicious. Today, I share my immediate family and my life with my husband, Deiby, who is my life partner and my unconditional support.
In our home, our bonds go far beyond genetics. Yes, of course we have a strong blood and legal bond, but what truly defines us is our emotional connection. We are a team, a very close-knit family, where one person’s well-being is everyone’s happiness. We’re driven by deep love, mutual support during difficult times, and celebrating each member’s achievements. If one of us does well, we all celebrate, raise a toast together, and clap until our hands get tired; but if things don’t go so well for someone, we all feel for them and look for ways to help—because that’s what it means to be a true team.
My parents are born fighters, natural-born entrepreneurs; they raised us by doing what they love. My dad loves to cook; he turned his passion into a livelihood by selling hot dogs. I admire how much care he puts into making each hot dog and how attentive he is to his customers. My mom, on the other hand, is a jack-of-all-trades with a real knack for sales; she runs her own small clothing store. With a lot of patience, combining her love for sales with her good taste day after day, she’s made her business a success. If there’s one thing my parents instilled in us from the time we were little, it’s that in this life, nobody gives you anything for free, and that honest work is the only thing that gives you true freedom. In my home, there’s a beautiful culture of hard work, based on three non-negotiable pillars: Honesty: Going through life with your head held high. We’d rather take things slowly but do them right, without stepping on anyone. Love: My parents always say that if you’re going to do something—whether it’s cleaning a floor or serving a customer—do it with love. You can see that in the result. Perseverance: Don’t give up at the first setback.
That's all, friends. I hope you enjoy my post, and I invite you to join this wonderful initiative.
