Azure Window - Malta
The Azure Window in Gozo, Malta was a natural arch rock formation that was created over time by the erosion of the soft Maltese limestone rock and wave action. Over time the rock kept eroding to form an even thinner arch and eventual collapse that occured. This photo was taken just a few months before the collapse that occured on 8th March 2017, showing just how thin the arch was and how weathered to rock was too.
