Noticing to the roles in listening activities, obviously find three special communicative listening modes: bidirectional, unidirectional, and auto directional. Bidirectional mode implies two-way chains (speaker role and listener role) in reciprocal utterance. Unidirectional mode implies one-way chain (speaker role only) in nonreciprocal utterance; the utterance comes from these sources: over head conversation, announcement, recorded message, radio, television, film, lecture, religious service, plays, opera, and concert. Listener is unable to interact. Auto directional mode implies two-way chain (a doer as speaker and listener) in reciprocal utterance. All things by talking to ourselves and listening to ourselves such as when speech is being performed.

In addition there is another psychosocial function of listening, transactional and interactional/ interpersonal listening. Transactional listening is done for listening instruction, explanation, describing, direction, ordering, inquiring, requesting, relation, checking on the correctness of details. These functions are for business type listening. Interactional/interpersonal listening is for social type listening. Its objective is the maintenance of cordial social relationship. Important matters of it are recognizing toward other people interest, good attitude relies to another and showing friendship facial movement (Gebhard, 1998 : 73).
