The teaching of the Bible is very straight to the text of scripture and we have been challenged to so many popular assumptions about what it really means to speak in tongues.

We have been reminded that in the Bible a tongue is an identifiable language. Sometimes people are born into that mysterious sound or inverted in a moment of emotion. But in Acts the miracle was not that of Confusion, but it gives us clarity though. So apostles spoke as Galileans yet every listener had those messages.

We talk about the power of the Holy Spirit which gives understanding not spectacle. So this is all matters. It shows that biblical tongues were meant to give of peace. It communicates and testifies not to impress or to mystify. This teaching forces gives us that funny question. If what is being called speaking in tongues today cannot be traced to a known language on earth then it is going against the biblical pattern that we all know.

Brother Eli already pointed out that this is not to mock but to call believers back to us
to be careful. To be faithful with us and to reverence the scriptures. Whether one agrees or not this message pushes us Christians to keep examining our tradition if it is in alignment with the Word of God and that kind of challenge is always worth listening to no matter what.
