Crypto Hottest Picks 2018 Part 2: HIGH PERFORMANCE BLOCKCHAIN

HPB is one of my top picks for 2018. It's only about $5 right now and very undervalued imo.

I have to admit, the first time I saw this one on Coinmarketcap I dismissed it right away because of the name. Seems like everybody and their dog is making a token these days. There are tons of coins/tokens out there and I believe only the very best will survive the next couple years. Anyways, after deciding to look into it deeply last week I added a bunch to my portfolio. : )

HPB is a blockchain that will be capable of processing millions of transactions per second.

Think about that for a minute. MILLIONS of transactions per second. By contrast, Ethereum is currently capable of about 15 transactions per second. We have no idea how much that will improve after Casper and sharding but most people are guesstimating between 50-100. CryptoKitties may have to wait. : ) Looking at other real-world statistics: VISA can process about 65,000 transactions per second. HPB is solving the performance & scaling challenges of the block chain by combining hardware with software. HPB's aim is to effectively meet "real business" needs by creating a high frequency platform that can benefit the IoT ecosystem which requires billions of end-points and millions of transactions per second.


HPB is currently using an Ethereum placeholder token until its blockchain is ready to be released. Its being built on top of NEO with the [DPOS](https://steemit.com/dpos/@dantheman/dpos-consensus-algorithm-this-missing-white-paper) consensus algorithm and will be the first blockchain to utilize software with accelerated hardware via a chip acceleration engine. The HPB chip R & D team is assembled from Huawei and Intel experts.

HPBs software architecture provides account, identity, authorization management, policy management, databases, asynchronous communication, and program scheduling on thousands of CPUs, FPGAs, or clusters that can support millions of transactions per second.

Their CEO, Wang Xiao Ming, is a highly respected blockchain expert in China with 10 years of experience in internet technology. HPB has been in development for 2 years and is open source. He has published three books on blockchain technology and spoken at multiple crypto/blockchain events.

Wang has been connected with NEO since day 1.

Recently, Wang Xiao was invited to a conference at Stanford University to speak about future applications of the blockchain and to demonstrate some of his knowledge in the cryptosphere. 

NEO has partnered with HPB who will be the first blockchain to support NeoVM (NEO Virtual Machine)!

HPB has another HUGE partnership with UnionPay.

China UnionPay released its latest transaction data on February 6, which shows its transaction volume grew by 28.8% year-on-year to USD 14.95 TRILLION. UnionPay mobile payment services such as mobile QuickPass and QR code payment is rapidly growing in popularity. With the launch of the app of “UnionPay”, UnionPay is offering safer and easier payment services to customers both in and outside China.


Token Metrics

EOS is HPB's direct competitor which is presently valued at 6 Billion USD. As of the time of writing, 22 million HPBs are circulating (maximum supply of 100 million tokens). With today's price of roughly $5, we can project the marketcap is about$110 million. In comparison, the market cap of EOS puts it at about 55 times HPB’s. Their token will be used in a similar way to Ethereum's Gas - when running dApps HPB will be consumed.

This is a very ambitious project which solves really important issues, has backing from NEO, and the team already has prototypes of the accelerated chips they plan to use. HPB has not been spoken of that much on western websites and forums as its not on the major high-profile exchanges yet. It's available now only on Kucoin and Bibox.

At $5 I think this is a steal and will have no trouble becoming a $100-$1000 crypto by 2020.
