At my opinion they won't stop trying to take controll over bitcoin development process. If they succeeded to do so, bitcoin is dead in my opinion. If one entity can controll development process and be responsible for 70% of mining hardware on market, it basicly controll protocol. I don't belive they can achieve that, but still - bitcoin is under attack that is going to end 1st August one or another way.
