탁본은 나무 판에 양각으로 글씨나 그림을 도드라지게 파내고 그위에 종이를 덮고 먹을 뭍혀 찍어내는 것을 말합니다.
대량으로 책을 만들거나 할때 유용하게 활용된 기술입니다.
목판인쇄술 발전의 토대가 된 기술이라고 할 수 있죠.
나중에는 글씨를 활용해 대량으로 책을 찍어낼수도 있었죠.
해인사의 팔만대장경이 대표적이라 할 수 있겠죠
