DTIYS Challenge: Street Scene

I am sharing a little street scene I drew recently and made a doodle over, and I thought it would be a perfect one for another Draw This In Your Style challenge. I had fun with the perspective here and tried to capture those narrow, cozy buildings. I love the contrast between the bright yellow walls and the darker storefronts across the way.

This sketch was all about getting that loose, sketchbook feel with digital brushes as always. As a doodle over drawing I kept the same just filled in some colors to work with the rest like green and terra cotta. I really enjoyed figuring out where to place the little details like the potted plants to make the scene feel more lived-in and the trash bins. It’s more about the mood of the street than getting every single window exactly right.
