Fun With Firearms

My words are like bullets
And my pen is the gun
I love shooting them out
One by one
locked and loaded
Emotions exchange
As I cock back the hammer
And focus down range
Accurate and steady
My hand on the grip
Hitting my target
As they fly out of the tip
Another feeling
Another idea
I aim and I shoot
And then they appear
Zooming through space
Hitting hard wherever they land
Fast and explosive
When my weapon's in hand
But please don't be worried
I mean you no harm
While I was writing this
The safety was on.

I read a few of your poems. I think firearms are a sensitive issue. But words are powerful weapons used to wound or to heal. We write in haste with no consideration to the reader and wound although that was not our intention.
