Taming Wild Flowers

An exercise in futility.

By July my gardens are way beyond my control.

The competition rages while I stand on the sidelines to document its unfolding:o

This is Campanula glomerata. It's common names are clustered bellflower or Dane's blood

Here they are in action with the yellow helliopsis and roses in the background.

Course the roses are too pretty to just play a supporting role.

And the beautiful wild day lilies (Hemerocallis fulva) are certainly no strangers to competition.

I remember them lining the roads everywhere around here, but now they mow them down and other weeds have taken their place:(

But, on a brighter note, a few more shots of miscellaneous spots here and there that I just wanted to share:)

On the left is the brightly beautiful rose campion. On the right is a black eyed susan, (Rudbeckia hirta)

This mix includes white malva, ox eye daisies and sweet peas.

More roses with the always-able-to-hold its own hydrangea.

And lots of lavender backed against the wall.
