The unforgettable Hermógenes

Hermógenes Pérez de Arce Ibieta (82) is a staunch defender of pro-life libertarian values in Chile, strongly anti-communist and thus hated by the Chilean Left, and one who stood with the military government of Augusto Pinochet since it rightly overthrew Chilean communism (under Salvador Allende) in 1973. He was an outspoken editorialist for El Mercurio in Santiago for decades and now has a blog read weekly by many thousands during his retirement. He is also an outspoken critique of left-centrist President Piñera and an advocate of candidate José Antonio Kast. A University of Chile law school graduate, he also did some graduate work for a certificate in economics at the Universidad Católica in Santiago. He has been very influenced by Milton Friedman, too. Being bilingual in English, he also translated the general editor of this blogsite (Dr. John Cobin)'s book: A Primer on Modern Themes in Free Market Economics and Policy.
