As we become more and more reliant on technology in our daily lives, I've become more concerned about my security and privacy online. Can we really trust companies with our data? I have recently deleted my Facebook account and taken the following measures to protect my privacy:
- Use a VPN at all times on both my phone and my laptop
- Switched to Epic privacy browser
- Use protonmail for email
- Use signal for messaging
- spoof my mac address on my laptop
- started using ubuntu on a virtual machine, hope to make a full transition

STOPI havnt used Signal,but I can vouch for Telegram being very secure. Just read up on how Russia has been trying to block millions of IP addresses latelyin an attempt to block Telegram.
I used to also use a VPN ( that I setup myself on a vps), just know that a VPN is just layer of security and sometimes on some networks,Vpn's will be blocked.
I would recomend that you use more than one browser instead of using Epic privacy browser. Often when people analyse network data on corporate networks they look for people that stand out. Using a normal browser like Chrome or Firefox makes you look more like a normal user. Have a look at this project which shows you how unique your browser and set of browser plugins are,in other words it shows how easy it is to identify you by looking at your browser fingerprint:

Thanks for the info! I just did the test and looks like I've got more work to do as I'm not protected from fingerprinting. I do have multiple browsers and use them for different things including Brave, Warerfox and Tor. Still trying to figure out the best set up with the least inconvenience.

I use a primary browser that makes me look like a normal person, its either firefox or Chrome and then I use Opera for some stuff (it has a built in VPN that you can turn on) and then I sometimes enjoy Firefox Developer edition. What is Warefox and Brave? I'll google for it, but never heard about them before.
That’s a typo, meant to write Waterfox, it’s developed by the same people who built Firefox. Brave is a new browser developed with a focus on privacy so ad blockers and tracker blockers are built in to the browser. There’s also some cryptocurrency integration going on so you can support Youtubers and other sites without having to deal with ads. I haven’t looked into it that much but it’s very interesting!
