CHAPTER 35. 너의 이름은 [Your name is]

“언젠가 너도 행복해지길 바라”

왜 나는 영화 ‘너의 이름은’ 중에 이 대사가 가장 기억에 남을까.
저 말을 그대로 해석하면 내가 굉장히 불행한 사람처럼 느껴질지도.

허나 내가 말하는 그것의 행복은 여기서 찾음이 아니다.
저 너머의 내가 알고 싶어 하는 미지의 궁금증일지도.

다른 세상이 있다고 생각해보지 않은 사람이 과연 있을까.
만화 영화 속 주인공처럼 알 수 없는 그리움이
계속 밀려드는 이유는
나뿐만이 아니라고 생각한다.

나는 영어를 잘 못하니까
미국인은 아니었을 것 같다.
아마도 나는 유럽에 가고 싶어 하니까
유럽 어느 마을에 사는 외국인이었을지도.

이 마음 한구석에 자리 잡은
허전함과 그리움의 근원지를 알기 위해서라도
유럽에 또 가야겠다.

어쩌면 해답을 얻을지도 모르니까.

" I hope someday you will be happy. "

Why do I remember this line most in the movie ‘Your Name is’?
If I interpret that word literally, I might feel very unhappy.

But I do not say that I seek happiness here.
Maybe that's the unknown question I want to know out there.

I wonder who hasn't thought of another world.
I miss her as much as the main character in the animated movie.
The reason why it keeps pouring
I don't think it's just me.

Because I am not good at English
I don't think I was American.
Maybe I want to go to Europe.
Which town in Europe did they live in?

In the back of one's mind
To find the source of the emptiness and the longing.
I should go to Europe again.

Maybe I'll get the answer.
