Quality post and the upvote

Hello,
I have noticed that more and more upvoting has become all about timing regardless of the quality of the post. Also posting has become more about cut and paste and not quality information. It's starting to get to the level of Facebook and Twitter the two social media sites that I for one can not stomach anymore, I just don't understand why people want to take something cool and turn it into more of the same crap most of us wanted to get away from.
