I personally think try to compare oneself with others can have both good and bad effect.
Comparing in terms of motivation is good. Try to motivate oneself by comparing oneself to other can be a good driving force.
But comparing oneself to other in terms of how we have fall short and trying to be like them and beating ourselves in the process will truly hurt us on our path to success.
