#ပုံျပင္ေကာင္းေလးတစ္ပုဒ္
Gandhi & Professor (ဂႏီၵ ႏွင့္ ပါေမာကၡ)

One day, Gandhi came along with his tray
and sat next to the professor for lunch.
The professor said, "Mr Gandhi, you do not understand.
A pig and a bird do not sit together to eat."
တစ္ေန ့ေတာ့ ေန႔လည္စာ စားရန္အတြက္
ဂႏီၵက သူ၏ ပန္းကန္ျဖင့္ ထို ပါေမာကၡ၏ ေဘးတြင္
ဝင္ထိုင္မိလိုက္ရာ ပါေမာကၡက သူ႔အား
"ဒီမွာ ဂႏီၵ၊ ဝက္ တစ္ေကာင္ဟာ ငွက္ တစ္ေကာင္နဲ႔
အတူတူ မထိုင္သင့္ဘူး ဆိုတာ
နားမလည္ေသးဘူး ထင္တယ္" ဟု ေျပာလိုက္သည္။

Gandhi looked at him
as a parent would a rude child
and calmly replied,
"You do not worry professor. I'll fly away,"
and he went and sat at another table.
ဂႏီၵက မိဘက မသိ နားမလည္ေသာ
ကေလးဆိုး တစ္ေယာက္က္ို
အလိုလိုက္ တံု႔ျပန္ေသာ ပံုစံမ်ိဳးျဖင့္
"စိတ္မပူပါနဲ႔ ပါေမာကၡႀကီးရယ္၊
ကၽြန္ုေတာ္ဘဲ အေဝးကို ပ်ံသြားေပးပါ့မယ္" ဟု
ဆိုလိုက္ၿပီး အျခား တေနရာတြင္
ေျပာင္းထိုင္ေပးလိုက္သည္။

Professor Wilson, reddened with rage,
decided to take revenge on the next test paper,
but Gandhi responded brilliantly to all questions.
Professor Wilson, unhappy and frustrated,
asked him the following question.
"Mr Gandhi, if you were walking down the street
and found a package, and within one was
a bag of wisdom and another bag
with a lot of money,
which one would you take?"
ပါေမာကၡ မွာ မေက်မနပ္ ျဖစ္သြားၿပီး
စာေမးပဲြ စစ္ေသာအခါ လက္စားေခ်ရန္
ႀကံစည္ထားသည္။ သို႔ေသာ္ သူေမးသမ်ွ ေမးခြန္းမ်ားကို
ဂႏီၵက ထက္ျမက္စြာ ျပန္ေျဖနိုင္ခဲ့သျဖင့္
ႀကံႀကံဖန္ဖန္ ေမးခြန္း တစ္ခုကို ေမးျပန္သည္။
"ကဲ၊ ဂႏီၵ မင္း လမ္းေလ်ာက္လာတံုး
ေငြေတြပါတဲ့ အထုတ္ တစ္ထုတ္နဲ႔
ပညာ ဥာဏ္ေတြ အျပည့္ပါတဲ့
အထုတ္ တစ္ထုတ္ ေတြ႕တယ္ ဆိုပါေတာ့၊
တစ္ထုတ္ဘဲ ေ႐ြးရမယ္ဆိုရင္
ဘယ္အထုတ္ကို ယူမလဲ"

Without hesitating, Gandhi responded,
"The one with the money, of course."
Professor Wilson, smiling sarcastically said,
"I, in your place, would have taken the wisdom,
don't you think?"
ခ်က္ခ်င္းဆိုသလို ဂႏီၵက
"ေငြေတြပါတဲ့ အထုတ္ကို ေ႐ြးမယ္" ေျပာေတာ့
ပါေမာကၡက မဲ့ျပံဳးျပံဳးကာ
"ငါသာမင္းေနရာမွာဆိုရင္
ပညာဥာဏ္ေတြ အျပည့္ပါတဲ့
အထုတ္ကို ေ႐ြးမယ္။ မဟုတ္ဘူးလား"

Gandhi shrugged indifferently and
responded,"Each one takes
what he doesn't have."
ထိုအခါ ဂႏီၵက
"မွန္ပါတယ္။ လူေတြက ကိုယ့္မွာ မရိွတာကို
လိုခ်င္ၾကတာဘဲ မဟုတ္လား"
ျပန္ေျဖလိုက္ပါသည္။
