What is a Hivian?

So I have been thinking about this a lot lately. What is a "Hivian?"

Hive is different than other social media platforms because we have an ecosystem that binds us.

We are not a cult but it may seem that way to other social media platform users.

For example, Facebook does not have Facebookivians. X (formerly Twitter) does not have Xians or Twitterians.

Why does Hive have Hivians? That is a legitimate question!

We have Hivians because we have an ecosystem that binds us. People on X or Facebook do not care about the profits of X or Facebook. But we on Hive care about the price of Hive and we care about things like the DHF and the reward pool.

Why is there a disparity in thought process? That is a good question!

The main reason is Hive is an ecosystem. We care about the future of Hive in a way that other social media's platform user do not.

We want Hive to be sustainable and we want Hive to have a better future.

I think this is what makes us different as a platform. Because we SHOULD care. Now who actually cares is up for interpretation; this is where the social layer of Hive is super valuable.

But Hive is not just a cryptocurrency, Hive is not just a fork of Steem, Hive is not just a social media platform.

Hive is an ecosystem of people that SHOULD care about the platform.

Now obviously not everyone cares and how we figure out who those people are that do actually care is up to the users. The more stake you have, the more important that idea is to you. The more stake you have, the more you can allocate rewards to "good" users.

Hive will never be perfect. Hive will always have users with bad intentions. But on the other side of the coin, Hive will always have user with good intentions.

Hive will always be a battle between good and bad. Hive will always be a battle place of ideas.

Hive will never be perfect and Hive will always be in flux.

We, as stakeholders that care, should always strive to make Hive better. But we should also realize Hive will never be perfect. We must always be careful and we should always look to the future.

In some weird way I care less about Hive and more about the people on Hive. Maybe that makes me a good Hivian? That is up to other user's interpretation and the degree to which their interpretation matters is impacted by their stake weight.

Hive is a DPOS chain. Some people said DPOS is a failure. But we are still here and Hive seems to be working.

I do my own thing. I do not recommend other people live my life. But I do have some recommendations to other Hivians based on my experience on Hive.

My recommendations are:
• Do not try to interpret people's actions based on what they say
• Try to interpret people's actions based on what they do on chain
• Try to have a good time
• Own your mistakes and move on
