Probably my last power up for a while
Referencing blocktrades when he said Hive can't cut spend: I feel desinfranchised by HIVE, precisely because they refuse to cut spending. Big spenders keep getting financed by inflation. Inflation is 3x higher than it was supposed to be. We are about to hit yet another all time low. Key figures refuse to acknowledge and take measures according to the direness of the situation. Some large witnesses and big hodlers keep believing it is all good because it is just part of the bear market.
The community is passive. Except a dozen or so people most want to believe all will be fine. All will not be fine and we are facing existential risks.
I have been buying and powering up slowly for the past few months but HIVE looks horrible right now, so one must be stupid to buy HIVE, I have been stupid for buying but my stupidity has limits. I am making this last power up and then watching as this ship keeps syncing while the helmsman keep denying it.
I still want to believe, I have no reason to but I want to.

When you say spending you are referring to DAO funding? If yes, I totally agree but if not I would still agree as Hive needs to stop giving away value and getting almost nothing in return.
Mostly the DHF but also in the past for way too long we have had a too high HBD interest rate and that is also spending, it was reckless.
It's clearly not just the bear market, how long until HBD depegs? I'm selling all my HBD, some is getting powered up some is just OUT, one has to hedge.

Acidyo doesn't have that much HP and it still was enough to decide we should all pay for a proposal that prints 400HBD a day that is 8k HIVE a day that is 2.9 million a year
A "small" witness alone financed a proposal bug enough to cause extra 0.5% inflation (based on circulating HIVE supply), one witness with one proposal alone, millions of HIVE a year taking a significant chunk of liquidity and market cap
I think the weak hands are getting shaken out.

At some point magi, or its equivalent, gets launched and a fork becomes immediately viable.
Assuming there are devs out there interested in a freed version of the code that has been intentionally driven off the cliff.
Those folks that pointed all this out back in 2017 appear to have been correct.
I think that people who sold above me or to me couldn't be classified as "weak hands being shaken out", that would be coping.
So far whoever sold from 50 cents all the way to 5 cents were just smarter than me. I am at a loss, they are not. If they want they can buy lower, I can't sell higher.
Being a believer is one thing, but we can't distort the financial reality that it has been a bad bet so far. It is ok to believe, I do and bought, but I acknowledge that market has been proving me wrong so far.
IF you knew when the supply spigot was getting cut off, and you wanted to make a lot of money, you'd short until it's time to buy, then you buy at a steep discount to the real value.
