I was no McCain supporter, but he was not evil.

His defense of Obama in the face of growing Republican racism and xenophobia was impressive. Who'd have thought that this ignorant woman proclaiming Obama as an "Arab" would become so representative of what would become the dominant wing of the Republican Party.

As for Trump's treatment of John McCain over the last few days, I can only hope that every soldier takes it to heart. Any of those for whom being captured in some future battle is a real possibility need to look at this President and think about where they stand in his eyes.
