The Insecure Heart

In a child's way of heart
disagreement is a simple thing.
It's anything they cannot bring
to focus in their simple mind
and thus feel simply threatened by.
Any difference in expression,
any thought they have not had
themselves
is just an aggravation.
All arguing is "fighting",
never simply talking, sharing.
Arguing a point to them
is seen as hostile provocation
because their frantic
heart-sleeve minds
cannot handle confrontation
and answer it with anything
but feelings, angry ramblings,
contempt that they mistake for wit.
To side without a rationale.
Oppose without reason.
Slander, but without rebuttal.
Blind in any current passion.
In a child's way of heart
"Why?" becomes enough for war.
The Infidel. The "terrorist".
The heretic. And all before
who suffered
for a difference of opinion
so their children may live on
and live and learn
for nothing.
So the world can teach them hate again
rather than to simply listen.
