Thai visa advice

Hey guys. This weekend I'm going on a visa run to Cambodia for a visa exempt due to personal reasons (I know it's better to opt for the 60 days and I usually do). Anyway I check the Thai visa run company and Bangkok buddy, they are not doing runs on Saturday. I think it's a public holiday.. does this mean that if I did it without a company and went alone on a van or train.. will the border let me through and back, or will they be closed?
