What are Masternodes? You can think of Masternodes as the second generation of bitcoin mining. Unlike bitcoin mining, the Masternodes do not require an immense about of energy and massive computational machines. Instead, Masternodes simply act as support to the blockchain by adding a layer of consensus which verifies transactions on various blockchain protocols. This consensus proof-of-stake does not mine any new tokens but does earn rewards for verifying transactions on the blockchain.
