Misperception

Just now I saw this man and woman crossing the street. The woman was holding the 3 or 4 year olds hand. And the man was just carrying the one year old. There was 7 seconds left to cross and this was Shattuck. I was thinking "man that family better hurry up", then I looked away for a second.
When I looked back they had made it but guess what... the lady and girl were going in one direction and the man and baby were going another.
I was like "whaaaa...."
Then I realized. I had made an assumption, an assumption they were a four person family. And the truth, they were two two-person families.
And then I was like " dope, I love seeing my assumption making slap me in the face and teach me a lesson"
