[Photography] Pre-war train bridge

Photo taken with GoPro

This is an old train bridge built across the river of Vuka. It was built in 1948. and was used until 1991. Bridge was damaged and has been unused since the Croatian war of independence.

History

It started as a pedestrian bridge in 18th century. It was found on the map of the town from the era of Black Plague 1795.  They named it Kolski bridge.

The next big thing were railroads being built. Pedestrian bridge was replaced with the train bridge. Local people claim that there was a wooden train bridge which was replaced by the metal one later.

During 1945. Germans were falling back from this area and the bridge was fully mined down. 3 years after that, a new bridge has been built and it is still standing there today.
