Nature adventures

Hey guys! I wanted to share a story about a hiking experience I had. I hike frequently, but I’m still not the best map reader ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So to start off, my friend and I chose a hiking spot we were both semi-familiar with in our area. We’d both been there before, but like most places, there were different trails. We chose the waterfall trail and headed off.

After about an hour on the trail, we kept going uphill, which we found odd for a waterfall trail. I thought we were on the right track because I heard running water, but it turns out it was the wind flowing through the top of the trees. After another hour we reached an opening in the middle of NO WHERE.

When we reached the top, we saw that this dirt trail went on forever.

At this point I was freaking out because we had no service and no idea where we were. I was really regretting not joining the boys scouts in elementary school. After ANOTHER hour, we reached an end to this trail and it led off onto a gravel road. Lord only knows where that would’ve led us to. Luckly my friend spotted a paved road across the field and we decided to take a short cut**(I kinda sprinted away because I thought I heard bear noises)**.

Come to find out that between us and the road was a stream we hadn’t seen because it dipped pretty low. We found this old tire swing which was kind of creepy because there were no houses near there. We crossed the stream and climbed up into the road. It was about a mile and a half walk until we found our ride.

I wish I could say this was the only time I’ve gotten lost in the woods with no signal, but it wasn’t.

Moral: stay indoors
