Flexdesign GPU Mining Case Review and unboxing.
Hey Guys,
since not all like open Air Mining Frame Rigs, or need to have closed Rigs for hosting in a Data Center i looked around for Server Case's who can work with at least 6 GPU.
First i started with using an IPC Server and ripping all the stuff out i don't need and adding some stuff to host the GPU.
(Server Cases are not intended to serve for GPU Rigs, where you want to put your GPU usually a HDD Shelf is mounted.)
Self build Rig based on IPC-Case:
8 GPU Rig

6 GPU Rig

Since it took always 1-2 Hours to Rip the unneeded stuff out and get the Frame in, i decided to find some Purpose Build Cases.
While browsing thru Bitcointalk i found a Thread from Flexdesign (http://www.flexdesign.lv/en/products/datortehnika/) and orderd:
2X FX-6.2.6
2X FX-6.3.6
They ship from Latvia and and shipping cost is around 20 Euro per Case.
They came in 2 Big Packages, 1 was already a bit Damaged on the outside.
The other Package looked ok from the outside:
when i opend the first Package, i quickly realized that the Packaging was very poor and at least 2 of the Cases took Damage during Transport. I don't blame DPD, i think it is due to inproper Packaging from Flexdesign.
You can see that the outside is bended ;(
I will contact Flexdesign and see how they handle this Issue.
But back to the Review itself, one of the Reason to order this Cases was, that i can immideatly start building the Rigs,
since these cases are "prepared" for taking the Riser.
The Screws are already Pre-mounted and you get also screws to fix the Power Supply and GPU.
You can simply start build your Rig immideatly. The Motherboard Stand off Screws are als pre-mounted.
The View from the Front clearly shows that you can attach 120 mm Fans to the Case (no Screws for that in the Package)
I will also Post an "Build a Rig with Flexdesign" Case here if you Guys want to see how that Rig looks like when it is completed.
Currently i have mixed Emotions, i really like that Cases but the poor Packaging is simply not accecptable for such a neat Product.

Nice! Looks really clean. Good write up!
That's an awesome rig for mining. I'm going to look into these. How is the temps on the cards do they run hot?
I make an Review when it is full populated, but you need to have Delta Fans in Front in any Case.
ok thanks for the info I'll be following
Do you know the additional wattage of those fans?
hi, i think 3 of the Delta Fans need around 50 Watt.
