What Tomorrow Holds

Laying in that same old bed,

Silently peering out the window.

Her hands lay at her side,

While tears roll down her face.

She feels her illness growing,

The end is coming soon.

The world looks so still,

As though frozen in peaceful serenity.

And so quiet too.

It would be easy to just slip away.

The brightness of the sun shines in,

And does not fade.

The warmth on her face feels soothing,

And she gently begins to smile.

She takes in a deep breath,

And feels at peace.

Knowing that what tomorrow holds,

She can face.
