The Blockchain is consist of the longest series of the blocks from the genesis block to current block.orphan blocks exist outside of the main chain.
Blockchain was invented by Satoshi Nakamoto to serve as the public transaction ledger of the cryptocurrency bitcoin.The invention of the blockchain for bitcoin and altcoin made it the first digital currency to solve the spending problem without the need of a trusted authority.
