STEEMIT ADVICE

I've been on Steemit and I learned a couple of things but not everything and I wanted to know if anyone has any advice that they learned on there time, specifically on reputation if you have any. I've been getting followers and up-votes but my rep isn't changing and I wanted to know if any of you could help because I know rep is important.
