Introduction
It's really easy to get buried in the mundane and the day to day. We are constantly being sold something and told why we should buy what we are being sold. Even those of us who are stubborn enough to resist the constant sales pitch, can get worn down and end up with receipts for shit we have no use for. That's pretty much what Facebook has become. Rather than try to salvage something worthwhile from that sinking, rotting vessel, some folks are choosing to jump ship and try their oars in a different boat. I'm hoping that pages like Steemit and Minds can become a nexus for a more productive social media discourse. Places where ideas are traded back and forth without a sales receipt attached, by posters without dollar signs in their vision. I don't want to sell anyone anything, and I don't want to buy anything. I want to learn, to discuss, to grow and evolve. Hopefully, enough of us can get on board with this idea, and make it become something worthwhile.
Independent media can flourish here, and that's the main reason I started a profile here, so that I could follow independent journalists who were motivated by principles, ideas and facts. If you know of one, him me with a link. I will happily check them out.
