Random Reflections On 5 years in Crypto

I bought a few bitcoin on this month 5 years ago. It was my first purchase. Some random thoughts:

-almost everyone that had heard of it thought it was a ponzi, scam, or bad idea back then. most people still do.
-very few people outside of techy communities had heard of it then. now, most people have heard of it even taxi drivers in developing countries.
-most people still think, however, that it will be going to zero within the next few days.
-people resented not selling the top at about $200 or not buying the previous year in the single digits. now, people resent not selling at the top at about$18,000 or not buying last year in the triple digits.
-then: it has tremendous potential but isn't very useful at the moment. now: it has tremendous potential but isn't very useful at the moment.

-then: "I missed the boat in bitcoin, time to get in this altcoin." now: "I missed the boat in bitcoin, time to get in this altcoin."
