Trusting in God's Plan

Romans 8:28 is one of my favorite verses for when life gets difficult. It reads:

"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose."

Notice it doesn't promise that all things are good. Sometime's people think that once you become a Christian, life becomes easy. In fact, it often gets more difficult. People might not like the new you. They will tell you, you're not the same person. You are different now that you became a Christian.

Whether you are a Christian or not life is not easy. However, if you are a follower of Christ, the Bible promises that for you all things are working together for good.

Now, this might not be the good that you want. It doesn't say that all think work together to get you a new Mercedes. However, when you think of God he is all-knowing. He knows what is best for us. Maybe if God blessed you too much financially you might forget to put him first.

Maybe the good in difficult situations is even drawing you closer to God, and shaping you more each day into the image of his son, Jesus Christ.

So we can relax and know that God does have a plan. God knows us intimately. God will take that situation we are going through and use it for good. God is a good God. We can trust in his plan. We do not have to understand it. We just do our best each day and trust in him.
