I Really Love This Income Model...

I spoke about this a few weeks ago because it popped up on my radar thanks to some Snaps I saw from @shiftrox
In the glory days of this blockchain, there was a third party service that started a 'loan' company of sorts on chain.
The idea was pretty straight forward...People needed Hive Power for whatever reason, and if you had some extra you could essentially lease it to them and you earned some returns from it.
Lots of crypto projects at that time where doing similar models, but it was very unique on Hive.
I can't remember the name of it to save my life, but I do know there was some drama around the operators of it. And poof, it was gone....
Sucked too because it was such a brilliant model.
So let's do some simple math right now to see what I'm earning currently with my curation efforts on chain...

I snagged this from Hive Stats and it's kind of sad when you think about it. And it's not really my fault per se, well maybe it is....But I've been trying everything to increase my curation APR over the past few months.
So much so, that I literally check @snapie almost daily to see if my curation score increases....

It doesn't lol
I mean, at all....If I get to a 62 score, I'm beside myself. So I've come to the conclusion that...I kind of suck at this curation stuff lol
So what to do...
Sure, I have delegated to some projects that curate content and that's cool. But that's more of support rather than trying to boost my APR.
But here's where Hive Engine's Lease program comes in!!!
Again, I didn't even know we had these kind of models on chain again until @shiftrox let me know.
And I'm absolutely LOVING this....
Check it out, this is absolutely incredible:

Now I've delegated out 6,000 Hive Power.
And if you kind of look at the average, I'm getting around 11-12% APR between the 3 leases I have out on the platform.
I'd say that's a lot better than the 7% I've been able to achieve on my own and by my own efforts.
Look, I'm hardy getting rich here. And I don't think I am planning my retirement from getting around 2 Hive a day from my leases....But this model on chain is my absolute favorite.
I'd love to see more people request leases from Hive Engine, and I don't even know if people know this project exists...
But be sure to check it out and fill some leases or request them. This is just another way that Hive continues to be the ultimate #web3 platform where we truly do, get our crypto to work for us.
I am not joking when I say, if the rest of the crypto world knew about what we have right here on Hive, this blockchain would be one of the top cryptos on the markets...But alas, we keep building and keep using this stuff!

Nobody is perfect, and I think people can vote the way they want. I do think that self-voting is a bit lame, so I try not to, but it happens every now and then due to a mistake. I hope the delegation works out, and you get some good APR back.
Excelente contenido 👍
Just the other day found me racking my brain trying to remember that name. Thanks for the reminder as well as your tip for good APR! 😎 👍
Nice, glad I can be of service :)
Yeah it seems to be pretty decent and the swap.hive is coming into my account all the time on schedule!
11-12% APR from the leases is quite nice for me
That's so cool—I love this whole idea of delegating HP and paying with some L2 token. I'd always rather have more HP than a lot of L2 tokens staked; I think it's safer. Anyway, I'm going to try to get more tokens and trade them for DEC or something like that, then request more HP, hehe
2 hive a day from your leases is a good thing to have
yeah i mean things with heavy volume like DEC is perfect. We can always flip it into hive.
For those of us who don't play, it's a good idea to burn DEC in exchange for HP, hehe
I'll take it all day every day
Being the best kept secret isn't usually good for growth. It is good for keeping something special away from those who have bad intentions.
I do think at some point there will be a broader adoption. Especially as more and more traditional platforms continue to tighten their grips on creators who will begin to crave more and more of the freedoms that have been taken away.
I do think we messed up when we scared all the influencers away. Literally drove them off chain because they didn't follow the 'rules' per se here...So as they had no vested interest here, they just left.
Hive sadly has a lengthy tradition of scaring away creators that could really help this platform grow.
One thing I have found to be helpful when joining something new whether that be in-person or online. It's best to get the lay of the land first. This watch, read, and reply is a slow measured way to get a sense of what is and isn't how the community operates.
This is especially true of a place like Hive where the community is long in the tooth and has been through some tough times. Something or someone new that could change the status quo is seen as a possible threat. Why? Because it's happened before. This comes across as a shoot first and ask questions later model. And is definitely off-putting for the average newbie who hasn't taken the time to learn the ways. Now add in an influencer who is accustomed to the type of behavior and general acceptance and perhaps even admiration of the general social media population. A place like Hive that has active guard dog type folks, well it's understandable why they are scared off. BUT if only they had taken the time to listen and learn before making the decision to create content. A place like this does demand active community care. Which is something new for those that are accustomed to large corporate platforms. What they may miss is that we are the platform.
This is very interesting information. I see that even with a small amount of Hive Power it can be done, right?
It's just that I'm still confused about how to start, it looks like I have to look for more complete information first.
Yup, small amounts requested can be a thing for sure.
Yes, I'll give it a try. By the way, what should I keep in mind before I start leasing out Hive Power?
Look for at least 7-10% APR.....Obviously, the higher the better.
Thank you for your advice.
Taskmaster is out too, last I checked. His posts kept getting downvoted to 0. I'm not aware of him having any beef with the hive police. It seems that success gets downvoted.
It was dlease.io
yeah i saw that too....Once again, Hive has a fantastic track record of kicking out the creators that have lived and breathed this blockchain for years. I don't know the backstory of why he was downvoted, but as someone I consider a good friend, he was always a stand up dude in my books.
thats it! thank you sir!
