Belt grinder stand for knifemaking
I made this stand out of some mild stell , it was easy to make , some cuting , welding and drilling couple holes .
Grinder (Bosch pbs 75a) is hanging on two 5mm screws .
I add folding grinding plate .
Its mounted on by two 8mm screws .
I also make knifemaking jig , nothing special some plates with holes , wooden handles , height of bevel is adjustable by adding washers to this welded 12mm screw .
Knife is mounted on jig by 5mm screws and small clamp .
Last thing that i add was a plate uder belt who help make streight grind .
Usually grinders that type cant do straight grind because plate uder belt is so thin and is bending easly .
On the left side you can see grind without plate . You can see that center grind is lower than grind on the sides . On right side grind is pretty straight because i add 3 mm plate under belt , ( i know , i know it isn't so good bevel line but this is one of my first grinds done with jig )
I add also a plastic container for water under grinder , that container collect some dust and sparks .
