The Pattern Bible : 2. The trends
Hi everyone,
Today I would like to introduce you to a new chapter in trading : the trends.
There is 3 different trends in charts : Uptrend, Downtrend and Range.
I. Uptrends
Uptrend are trend that are going ... up ! How to see if we are in uptrend? The price is making higher high and higher lows.
II. Downtrend
The same way : it is a trend that is going down. How to see it? The price is making lower highs and lower lows.
III. Range
When the price is in a range, the price is blocked between two price and don't go higher or lower.
Now, how to see when the trend is reversing?
"A trend only reverse once"
The downtrend is reversing when the price stop doing lower lows and higher lows and start doing higher highs and higher lows.
On this chart you can see a full cycle with downtrend - range - uptrend :

Bon, vu que je suis totalement nul en AT, petite question :
Pour réaliser tes trends, sur quel échelle de temps doit on être pour que cela soit représentatif ?
Un trend sur réalisé sur 4h est il valable par exemple ? (notamment pour le scalping ?)

Au plus le timeframe est grand, au mieux ça sera représentatif. Donc un trade sur du weekly sera toujours mieux qu'un trade en daily, qui sera lui-même mieux qu'un trade en 4H... En dessous de 4h c'est utile pour chercher la meilleure des entrées, mais pour de la vraies AT, je me limite à 4h ce qui est déjà bien assez court je trouve.
Après pour le scalp je ne suis pas du tout qualifié là dedans donc je ne saurai pas te dire, mais le scalpe se fait parfois sur des timeframe de 15minutes si je ne dis pas de bêtises.
