totally effing bogus steemit bs
well, obviously, Steemit is a fucking bogus scam. I simply haven't figured out yet what is going on - probably a closed clique. How is it that people can create posts that are nearly illiterate stream of conscious bullshit without employing simple grammar like proper spelling, sentences, paragraphs and somehow be promoted and yield hundreds of dollars?
I have only produced a few posts but they at least mimic similar posts and far exceed others in quality of cogent content and yet get nothing. My intro gets 6 bucks when others get hundreds for shitty content? Even using the fucking tags my posts are totally ignored and NOT EVEN PLACED in the tag lists. How does that bias work?

This complaint can be applied to every social media platform out there. Not only Steemit
You learned all this wisdom in just a few weeks?
Haha. relax. Thats actually super impressive your intro post made you that much. Ive never got that much for any post. but thats no reason to bitch about it. Just enjoy yourself on here. meet people, get followers and follow people. and keep posting, without bitching preferably . There does seem to be some gaming going on, but its not all gaming. it is possible to do well enough I'm sure. Sorry you are angry. Forget about getting paid. Just post on here and be happy in if a year you have 100, either is reddit. best best of luck whatever you do. Sorry for the rant
maybe answer the question
It takes time to find your groove on Steemit. I've been on here since the first week and usually just make a few cents per post. It's starting to pick up though and I enjoy writing my posts, so it's all good. Welcome!
thanks, sorry I am frustrated. However, Steemit main marketing pitch is "you get paid" so why would someone not expect it? I am actually less angry about the getting paid part right now, given I am new, than I am to what appears to me to be obvious bullshit manipulation. Why does the site REQUIRE me to put appropriate tags on my post and yet when I do so they are totally ignored. I made my posts, but when I go inspect the TAGGED list, it is simply ignored and not shown. So, how is my content supposed to EVER gain any footing? It can't. Seems exposure is being reserved for a selected few. Maybe I need to try to insert photos of hot asian girls.
If you are here just for the money.....you may as well leave. Get social, have some fun, vote, follow, comment (hopefully positive), you can even get rewards for comments. Don't give up and try to be positive that works best.
well, not really since no other social media platform claims to pay you for your content.
thanks
Right now you need to build a following. Otherwise the only people who will see your posts are those browsing new. In the future that should improve with communities.
The people who have been here for a long time and built a following obviously have more people (and consequently bots also) upvoting their posts.
Wow, you just started with the company (steemit.com) about a week and calling it BS!
How did that work out with your last employer?
Now hear me out...
Not going to sell you...
As the new kid on the block you got what? 40some followers who may see your recent post now or maybe when they get around to it. (7day payout)
I admit, I don't have the answer about why your tags don't show up but I am pretty sure they are not in the trending or hot unless 40+ votes or $8+.
Next time you post it will most likely show up in your "new" tab next to "home" tab for the next few hours and will gradually be pushed down to the bottom so hopefully it may become "hot" tag and eventually make it to the "trending" tab where MOST people check!
As a newcomer who is beginning to crawl before walking more time is needed to build a following which would increase your visibility in your post as each follower would see your post in their feed. Cannot say they will click on it or read it or vote on it with a lot other post grasping for attention.
Now you did grab some attention on this post tagged "bogus".
Let me help you and provide a link to @shayne and I strongly suggest to follow him and watch his videos and checkout his blog.
I wish you more luck and more other Steemians to HELP you with your journey here. I love it here and it hurts to see someone who misunderstands to " come for the rewards, but stay for the community"
Keep STEEM N ON,
Frank

thanks. It is quite interesting that this negative post is getting far more attention than any of my posts that "played the game" and did what I was supposed to do. Maybe the steemit community needs to learn from that fact.
I take it you haven't learned anything from @shayne video?
Wow, not sure what arrogant criticism you are trying to make on me there. I did make a Intro post here: https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@kabrink/finally-hello
It was pretty much ignored.
criticism of me continues. But, check this out.
https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@fitgirl/fitgirl-intro-post-5-16-17
yields 6. Thanks.
Please...
$5 is pretty much ignored???
Have you heard the saying you get what you pay for?
NO PHOTO
NO VIDEO
allow me to spell it out

This is a big one.
A good Introduce Yourself post acts like a lighthouse that attracts other users to your page. You can use this opportunity to showcase who you are, what you plan to do with Steemit, and why people should follow your account.
These posts get regular attention from Whales (big accounts) because if new members have a great introduction post that nets them a nice profit, they'll be more likely to stick around and spread the good word about Steemit. Whales want this because the more users there are, the better their investment grows. It's really quite simple.
So how do you craft a good Introduce Yourself post?
Check out mine, because I did everything right:
STEEMIT, Introduce Yourself
So, what are we looking at here?
Verify yourself
In your post you should have a picture of video of yourself (preferably video) with some identifying marker to verify that you are indeed the person making the post. This typically means you holding up a piece of paper that has the date and your steemit account ID.
Extra points for doing something creative and personal.
Who are you?
Tell us about your history. Enough that you are being sincere but probably not so much that we have to stay up past our bedtimes just to learn it.
Steemit is a lot like YouTube used to be, meaning we care about you as a person here, we're interested in your views and interests. So don't be shy.
Talk about why you joined Steemit
Why are you here? Are you trying to make money? Are you looking for an audience for your artistic content? Are you a disenfranchised blogger or YouTuber?
Tell us why you joined Steemit. Don't be ashamed because people come here for all sorts of crazy reasons.
I see @fitgirl must of followed directions and posted a photo...
Cool, thanks for the lesson in how unwelcoming Steemit can be due to arrogant, pompous people that see themselves as the models of content. For the record, I cannot even find your Intro post, so what photo or video did you provide? Oh, none? What I do find is a ton of resteemed content. Congrats on leeching other people's content for your own benefit.
wow, well, that makes all the difference. This is in the directions? Where is a photo required? I notice you did NONE of this anyway.
Attractive people do get more attention, just like in the rest of society. But hey. I want to echo what numerous people above said.. If you take the time to build a following, you can be making like $100 a post like papa pepper. He took the time to really develop a following and it's paying off.
I suggest if you want to be more successful on here, to go to the #introduceyourself tag and meet other new people and ask for mutual follows and form friendships and network.
Also just post good content in general, I haven't looked at your page.. So I dunno what you post, but.. If you just post good content regularly people will follow you. It might take a while.. It took me like 7-8 months to get 350+ followers.. And I put out some pretty good photography and stuff, so.. Yeah. Find something people want, and build a following.. And you'll make a decent amount most likely if you follow that recipe. That's my advice, good luck.
Not required.
Get what you pay for.
Now are we talking about me?
Well you obviously didn't read ALL my post...
DID YA?
Resteeming QUALITY content OBVIOUSLY has been paying off...HINT HINT
Leaching...
Hold old are you?
cool, thanks for the info. However, that's kind of my point, I did what I thought I was supposed to do regarding "introducing myself". It got almost no interest. OK, fine. Obviously, I'm not going to carry the point around here. People are not interested in skeptics.
Please answer one simple question. For one example, if I put in the tag "photography" why is my post completely ignored? That is completely bullshit. If the site wants to give everyone equal opportunity to provide content (oh, and be recompensed as marketed) then it seems my content would be, umm oh, I don't know, displayed and placed in the search.
what content have you produced? none? so you are just stealing everyone else's content? that's the point. Wow, glad you are proud of being a thief
yes. Since you have decided to criticize my content then why can I not expose your "content"?
So you expect us to give a faceless, unproven, complainer a $100 post!
Good luck!
Now I am thief?
You really think you are smart!
Let's see how long you last.
By ALL means Don't give up!
wow, you did not even provide an intro post and then criticize me. You are an incredible hypocrite with no content to provide any of us. Thanks.
Can't help you if you don't READ.
LOOK HARDER
You are worthless and obviously produce no original content. It is interesting that you continue to simply ignore the main question.
Why is Steemit ignoring my post and not placing it into "rotation" based on my TAGS? They force us to use tags but then do not use them to place our content?
I know you do not care. You seem to be making out ok thieving other people's content for your own benefit somehow.
Tell you what...
My very first response gave you the answer to your question.
I strongly suggest having someone else READ it out loud to you.
P.S. Don't be jealous...
You made more money on your introduction post than I did I think and I included some really dope photography and a picture of myself.
Took me a while of posting before I started making money, wasn't quick. But now my account is worth around 3 thousand last I checked.
So yeah.. I'd rather use this than Facebook which pays me nothing, though i still use that as well just to reach people cause i was doing this for free before money was ever an incentive. Money is just a perk and a bonus. You might not do well if you don't do this kinda stuff already. Your expectations are probably too much, yet.. If steem goes to levels of bitcoin.. This around 3k I have will be worth a lot more.. So.. It has been worth it for me, and it might be incredibly worth it if steemit continues to become more popular.
Now.. In regards to what you said about your tag issue, I dunno what's going on there. Maybe someone in steemit.chat can help you. Or make a post about it asking for help, or do a google search and see if anyone else has already made a post like that.
I appreciate skeptics. I am one. Though true skeptics are open minded and.. So far you seem to be really impatient and condescending about all of this.
I tried to help, good luck.
cool, thanks, not one of your posts answered my question.
You forgot to READ out loud!
Thanks for the info.
