Gobi Desert or Bust!
We’ve all heard of the Gobi Desert and probably imagined a vast area of seeming desolation. At first glance, it definitely does seem harsh and desolate.
How could people survive in such an environment? And who in their right mind would want to go to the Gobi for a vacation - other than me, of course?
Well, it’s exactly the fact that it is so different from my usual environment that made it such an exciting place for me to visit.
Yes, I stayed in this kind of yurt for a week.
Located partly in southern Mongolia and partly in northern China, the Gobi is one of the few places where a person can fall completely off the radar.

I can't say I have any desire whatsoever to even drive through a desert, much less stay overnight in one but your pictures are amazing!!!
I do find those dwellings fascinating.. the traditional yurts. How was it to stay in one? And can you do another post giving more details about what they're made of and how they are furnished inside? Feels familiar somehow.
