In this video, we're testing one of the many workflows currently being validated during our Closed Beta phase: connecting a Ledger device to Hive Keychain and using it to securely sign an EVM transaction. Our goal is simple: give users the flexibility to manage assets across multiple ecosystems while keeping the security standards they expect from their favorite hardware wallets. This is exactly why the current testing phase is so important. We're actively pushing every feature, integration, and edge case we can find before opening Multichain to a wider audience.

From my perspective, this update is a brilliant move by the Hive Keychain team. They're taking a significant leap forward for Hive, especially in terms of security, and who knows, perhaps they'll even establish themselves as a highly prestigious wallet.

This is one of those updates where the technical detail matters more than the headline.
Ledger support inside a multichain Keychain flow is not just another wallet feature. It changes the risk profile for users who want Hive access and EVM access in the same daily workflow, but do not want to move serious assets through a hot-wallet-only setup. That distinction is important.
The part I am most interested in is the closed beta process. Hardware-wallet flows usually fail at the edges: wrong network prompts, unclear signing messages, account mismatch, users not understanding what the device is actually approving. If those cases are being tested before public release, that gives the feature a much better chance of being trusted by non-Hive crypto users.
I also think this connects directly to onboarding. A multichain wallet is only useful if the security model feels familiar to people coming from Ethereum or Ledger-first habits. This is a good step in that direction.
