Novice into the pit

If you have $, you can rent a lot of good cards with relatively low dec prices. When I was grinding from Novice - Bronze II I was mostly using death and water cards available after buying spellbook. Should be easy enough to level up fast.
Also join giveaways where you can win cards for free.

So, if you're looking for some ins and outs to getting comfortable with splinterlands and transferring assets in/setting yourself up for success, feel free to check out this introductory guide I wrote a few days ago, it covers a lot of the common questions I see get asked (and the questions I had when I first started)!
If you're looking for less of a deep dive intro to the ins-and-outs around Hive/Splinterlands/etc, you should check out a few of the posts written by @marcuswhal, he has a great Beginners budget deck building guide as well as more recent examples of decks he's used to climb up the ranks :)
